Vegan Athlete Coaching: Vegan Athlete Training Camp
Terms and Conditions
1.0 Deposits, payments and refunds
1.1 By submitting a deposit to participate in a ‘Vegan Athlete Training Camp’ I understand and agree to all terms and conditions contained within this document and on the Vegan Athlete Coaching website. If I am under the age of 18, I have first gained the consent and approval by my parent or guardian to participate in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp.
1.2 I will pay the outstanding amount owed to ‘Vegan Athlete Coaching’ on or before the agreed specified date.
1.2 If I later choose not to pay the final installment and not to participate in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp I understand that the deposit is non-refundable.
1.3 If, for any reason, I cannot complete the entirety of the Vegan Athlete Training Camp I understand that this does not entitle me to all or some of the money paid in advance or my obligations to pay any monies outstanding.
1.4 Minor or major turns in weather events for the Vegan Athlete Training Camp will not entitle me to a refund of any kind.
1.5 I understand that Vegan Athlete Coaching will provide a selection of meal options over the weekend. Dissatisfaction of these options will not entitle me to a refund of any kind.
1.6 Refunds, for any reason, are ultimately at the discretion of Coach Aden De Jager.
2.0 Road Use, Safety and Liability
2.1 I understand and acknowledge that cycling is a dangerous recreational activity as it involves a significant degree of risk of physical harm to a person
2.2 I understand and agree that Aden De Jager, Vegan Athlete Coaching and its affiliates, participants and other cyclists are not liable for my own safety and actions before, during and after the Vegan Athlete Training Camp. I assume all responsibility for personal and property damage that may incur during the Vegan Athlete Training Camp.
2.3 By participating in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp, I acknowledge that I consider myself a skillful, responsible and safe cyclist capable of to safely adhering to road rules in all traffic and road conditions.
2.4 By participating in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp, I acknowledge that I consider myself a skillful, responsible and safe cyclist capable of riding with other cyclists (often in close proximity) and I am aware and able to ensure their safety by either ‘signalling’ or ‘calling’ potential hazards on the road that may be of danger to other cyclists and road users who may be aware or unaware.
2.5 In ensuring my own actions are safe whilst participating in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp, I agree that I understand and will adhere to all road rules as well as safety precautions and instructions given by organisers of the Vegan Athlete Training Camp.
2.6 In ensuring my own actions are safe whilst participating in the Vegan Athlete Training Camp, I agree to ride within my level of ability and take in all environmental circumstances on the day of riding including but not limited to weather, traffic and terrain. If I feel uncomfortable or uncertain as to my ability to participate, I will cease what I am doing and notify Vegan Athlete Coaching Staff.
2.7 I understand that there may or may not be a ‘follow car’ behind the participant whilst cycling on the road. I understand that the purpose of this vehicle is to supporting and instructing riders on directions, spares, feeds, water etc. The follow car is not there to block, stem or direct traffic. I understand that the presence of a ‘follow car’ does not reduce my responsibilities as a road user or my responsibilities under these terms and conditions.
3.0 Safety Equipment
3.1 I am aware that it is my duty to supply or arrange the supply of my own safety equipment for the Vegan Athlete Training Camp including but not limited to approved helmets, visible garments, gloves etc.
3.2 I will ensure that the bicycle or bicycles that I use is/are suitable and ready for the conditions of the training camp for the safety of myself and others. This includes making sure it is clean, well looked after and functioning well before and during the camp.
3.3 IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS GET THEIR BIKES SERVICED BY A PROFESSIONAL BICYCLE MECHANIC BEFORE COMING TO THE VEGAN ATHLETE TRAINING CAMP.
3.4 If I believe that there may be an issue with my bicycle, or I’m simply just unsure about its safety, I will raise this issue to the camp staff who will make an assessment, however, this advice will not hold the person liable for making that assessment and the participant should consult a professional bicycle mechanic for advice also.
3.5 I understand that if my bicycle does not meet regulatory safety requirements or the expectations of the camp staff, I will not be able to participate in the training camp and I am disqualified from any rights to recover payments made to Vegan Athlete Coaching for the purposes of the training camp.
